Chinese ripped off in Golden Visa property scams

The Secretary-General of the Communist Party, Jerónimo de Sousa, blamed the recent left and the right wing governments for the "spread of a network of corruption" across the country, and he does seem to have a point.

The seasoned Communist leader argued that there is a deteriorating political and institutional situation from a government without authority or credibility caused by a visible spread of a network of corruption, the proliferation of secret webs, of cronyism, tax fraud and evasion.

De Sousa pointed to  the current Golden Visa arrests and revelations leading to the arrest of top state officials.

"Golden visas are the hallmark of this government and have proved to be an open door for money laundering, through the acquisition of luxury property and are a source of corruption," said de Sousa.

The communist leader added that the ruling parties do not govern for the people, but to defend powerful interests, adding that the possible privatisation of TAP "is another crime against national interests."

The Golden Visa enquiry is continuing with income and asset statements submitted to the Constitutional Court made available in the press today. Wife, son of Galgotia Univ director arrested

AGRA: City police arrested Padmini Galgotia and Dhruv Galgotia, wife and son of Galgotia University director Sunil Galgotia, in Noida on Tuesday, in connection with a complaint filed by a finance company for fraud and forgery. The duo were brought to Agra and produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM), which sent them into judicial custody till October 27. SE Investment, a finance firm in Agra, had filed a complaint against Sunil Galgotia, chairman of the Smt Shakuntla Educational Society, and its office-bearers, on September 9. A case was registered under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of documents), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 120 B (being party to criminal conspiracy) of the IPC at Hari Parvat police station of Agra for causing financial losses to the complainant through fabricated documents in the name of Galgotia University, UP, as part of a conspiracy.

In July, 2013 I got admission in NEI INDIA for a film editing course which was a 4 months course. I had to pay Rs.10,000 as the down payment. Then as their payment scheme Rs.8000 I used to pay each month for a couple of month. Because the course was about Rs.26,000 gross. But after paying my last installment I didn’t atten any class for some of my personal problem. Now my complaint is, they told me that if I don’t pay the installment in a week, they will stop my classes. For that reason I paid that in a week. But now I want my last installment of Rs.8000 back. Because I didn’t atten the last month for which I paid the money.

Peeping Tom heart doctor is struck off

A DOCTOR who rigged up spy cameras in his bathroom to film female colleagues naked in the shower has been struck off.

Cardiologist Vivek Baliga, 33, hid the camera behind a pile of boxes to video women work friends who were invited to stay after nights out.

He then transferred the footage to his laptop which he would watch for his own pleasure.

Baliga, a student heart doctor, admitted three charges of voyeurism last year. He was sentenced to complete a 10-year sex offender’s programme alongside a three-year community order.

But now his disgrace is complete after he was struck off the medical register.

A Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service panel said: “The panel has concluded that your actions are fundamentally incompatible with you continuing to be a registered medical practitioner.”

Baliga was living in Horsforth, Leeds, when he invited a woman doctor and her boyfriend to stay at his home after a pre-Christmas night out in December 2009.

But while using his en-suite shower the following morning, the woman became suspicious about boxes piled against the bathroom window.

She found the recording device and immediately told her boyfriend. They fled and reported Baliga to the police, who discovered more illicit footage on his computer.

This showed the same woman showering at her own home and another woman doctor using the toilet at her home.

The footage was taken between September 2007 and December 2009.

Prosecutor Carmel Pearson told Leeds Crown Court: “They considered him a close friend. Both had considered him part of their social group and had allowed him into their homes.”

Ms Pearson said Baliga had suggested using the en-suite.

“While she was showering she discovered a video camera. It was switched on and had recorded her taking a shower. She was horrified.

“He then bombarded Miss A with texts and phone calls begging for forgiveness. His life would be ruined if she reported him to the police.”

In their judgment on Tuesday the MPTS panel said: “The offences for which you were convicted were serious and for your own sexual gratification.

“They were pre-meditated, repeated and carried out over a prolonged period of time. The panel is of the view that your actions fell far below the proper standards of conduct and the behaviour expected of a doctor.”
